[Tailgate puts his chin in a hand and surveys his friend sadly.]

[he looks at the reflection again, expression pinching at himself. it's more of a childish pout, now he's aware of it.]

Well, refer back to crippled self-esteem. I guess I was dumb to think this was, uh, anything proper?

[Tailgate is torn between wanting to offer reasonable advice or go for the "they didn't deserve you anyway" best friend defence.]

Shut up! You're not dumb. He's dumb for doing whatever he did to you.

[He'd seen the rumours flying around by now.]

I am dumb, [he says with a huff, a little more determined to be unhappy than he should be.] like, it's my thing. I don't understand stuff, like I didn't understand this.

[he leans his chin on his hand.]

Nah. He's already kind of messed up. That would just make it worse... I already set some of his stuff on fire.

[He sighs and takes their drinks from the waiter, setting one down in front of his amica.]

So did he actually, y'know, talk to you about whatever happened?

A little, I guess. I'd rather talk about this with you than Drift, at least. Drift would give me good advice.

[riptide takes one with a noise of thanks, leaning back in his seat as well as his kibble will allow.]

Not really. It was basically just I made out with the crazy Megatron in a dream, bye!

[Wow. Tailgate has half a mind to pick up his dear beloved friend and throw him through a wall. Surely the bartender lady won't mind too much.]

[mikaela seems to sense this thought tailgate has and sends him a flat look, slowly shaking her head. not today.]

I wouldn't have counted it! I would've just been like, I mean, that Megatron is all kinds of weirdly attractive, so I don't actually care if you dream about him! I think we all are, kind of!

But he was really insistent on how he's a terrible person and I should just go away. Ugh. I'm starting to think I overreacted? Maybe I should've been more patient? I don't know. Maybe this was inevitable because neither of us are really... y'know. Into this.
